Christians: Do you have to take the Bible literally to be a true believer?

You have obviously mixed up your facts. First off, Jesus IS history, if you went to Rome and asked a scholar, christian OR atheist they would tell you that a man named Jesus died on the cross for claiming to be the son of God. Its history. Also, Evolution has NO solid evidence. While as proof for the Bible is abundant. Did you know that 90 percent of the ways scientist determine the age of the earth match up with the Bible? Or that part of the remaining 10 percent is radiometric dating, which in case after case has been proved inaccurate and ineffective? Evolution is impossible, scientifically speaking. But back to the point, some things are meant to be metaphoric, but mostly the Bible was true to its word.
