If you do not believe in any religion but believe in a higher power are you an atheist?

if you don't believe the many and various religions and all of their many and varied parables, metaphors, and frankly sometimes just plain fairy tales....BUT you think there is more to the universe than simple random chance...that something out there has something to do with the existence of everything.
